Galbally Sports and Leisure Club was founded in Galbally Village, Ballyhogue in 1988 and remains today a wonderful resource for our community.  In 2018 it celebrated its 30th Anniversary and honoured its First Hall Committee and all those who contributed down through the years.

Today the present Committee members of Galbally Sports and Leisure Club ensure that it is host to many more activities including Badminton, Kettle Ball Training, Fitness classes, Chess, Volleyball, Music Lessons and much more. The hall is also available for family gatherings, children’s parties etc. Full parking facilities are available outside the building.

With improvement in mind, the present committee applied for funding with a view to upgrading the club and were successful with initial approval of E100k towards a major programme of refurbishment works. This funding is subject to the community raising an additional E12,500 in cash plus a similar amount in kind. The Committee recently held the first Galbally 10K Race and 5K walk which was hugely successful and enjoyed by over 150 members of the Community. There are various fund-raising events in the pipeline so track us on Facebook for regular updates on same.

The central aim of the refurbishment is not only to keep the building maintained and usable but to keep it a valuable resource for everyone now and for future generations. In doing so, we know we are helping revitalize our beautiful village of Galbally and keep the heart beating.
