The Bree Community Employment (CE) programme is designed to help people who are long-term unemployed to get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities. We cover a large area which includes Bree, Ballyhogue, Galbally and Glynn. Based over the four locations we have 15 people employed in areas such as Child Care, Environment, Clerical & Caretaking.

The Community Employment programme is administered by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP). The DEASP gives financial support in the form of allowances and funding to assist with the Community Employment programme. We have a large number of community employment sponsors who are voluntary organisations within each area who offer opportunities to each participant to gain knowledge & experience while on the scheme. Training is also offered while on the scheme for those wishing to pursue formal qualification.

We are always looking for new participants so please feel free to drop into the Office based in Bree Community Hall, office hours are 9am to 11am Monday to Friday.
